Sacraments to the Sick
We Catholics believe that the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick helps heal and bring wholeness to our mind, body and Spirit.
When a Catholic needs to go into the hospital or a nursing facility...
... they can receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist:
| Upon registering in the hospital or nursing facility the patient needs to inform the hospital that they are Catholic and wish to be put on the list to receive Holy Communion. |
⇒ | The nursing facility then generates a list of all Catholic patients. |
⇒ | When the priest or extraordinary minister enters the facility and picks up the Catholic patients list, they know immediately who wishes to receive the Sacraments. |
⇒ | If you wish to remain anonymous no one from the church will visit you during your stay. |
If someone is having a surgical procedure at the Advanced Surgical Hospital, ...
You need to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick prior to going into the hospital. It is best to see a priest after Mass before that surgery date. The priest will be more than happy to give you the Anointing of the Sick at that time.
