Organizations
From its inception in 1903, Catholic Daughters of the Americas has grown and developed into the largest organization of Catholic women in the Americas. Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, its members are united by their faith in Jesus Christ and their devotion to the Church and the Holy See. Our local court: Washington #1651 celebrated its 50th year in 2003.
The purpose of the organization is to participate in the religious, charitable and educational Apostolates of the Church. CD of A engages in creative and spiritual programs, which provide its members with the opportunity to develop their special God-given talents in a meaningful way to positively influence the welfare of the Church and all peoples throughout the world.
Any Catholic lay or religious woman, 18 years of age or older who supports the church and desires to participate in social and charitable activities shall be eligible for and entitled to membership.
